One Los Angeles Chargers assistant coach has left the team after suffering a first-round playoff exit for the second year in a row.

Lawton girls basketball coach Jeremy Macon has stepped away from the team, district officials confirmed on Friday. According to Lawton athletic director Chris Richter, Macon stepped away from his post earlier this week – a position he’s held since 2021.

Cameron Pettus, who led the Eagles for the last seven seasons, announced his decision via social media Tuesday. He said wants to get back to just being a football coach.
