LEGO just opened preorders for one of its most anticipated licensed releases ever: the L EGO Pokémon Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise set ($650). Designed for adult builders and longtime fans, this premium set brings the original Kanto starter trio to life in brick form and is already generating serious buzz among LEGO and Pokémon collectors.
The LEGO Group was founded in Billund, Denmark in 1932 by Ole Kirk Kristiansen, its name derived from the two Danish words LEg GOdt, which mean “Play Well”. Today, the LEGO Group remains a family-owned company headquartered in Billund. However, its products are now sold in more than 120 countries worldwide.
LEGO and The Pokémon Company International have unveiled the first official LEGO Pokémon sets, launching Feb. 27.
