The new Jan. 17 episode of "SNL" will be hosted by Finn Wolfhard in his hosting debut. Wolfhard's gig comes just weeks after the finale of "Stranger Things" dropped on Netflix Dec. 31. Wolfhard starred in the show as Mike Wheeler since it premiered in 2016.

After a two-week hiatus, “Saturday Night Live” returned with a new episode Dec. 6 with host Melissa McCarthy and musical guest Dijon, marking McCarthy’s sixth time hosting, her first since 2017, and Dijon’s “SNL” debut.

It's the second Saturday of 2026, and a new episode of Saturday Night Live is mere hours away. The most recent new episode aired on December 20, when third-timer Ariana Grande and Musical Guest Cher helped close out 2025. And this week, the show announced three exciting new first-time Season 51 hosts to ring in the new year.

The bit, titled “Mike in Manhattan,” featured “SNL” host Finn Wolfhard (Mike Wheeler) alongside his former “Stranger Things” co-stars Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas Sinclair) and Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin Henderson).
