After half a decade of waiting, Microsoft finally offered an extended preview of its long-awaited reboot of the beloved Fable RPG franchise on Thursday.
Fable is headed to the Xbox, PC, and PlayStation, with developer Playground Games actively considering a Nintendo Switch 2 release.
The Developer Direct included an extended presentation about the reboot from Playground Games. "Fable is Playground's first open-world action-RPG," studio founder and general manager Ralph Fulton explains. "Although our game is a new beginning, I think what we're making is really faithful to the spirit of the classic Lionhead trilogy we all love."
Playground will be bring back fan favorite enemies, including hobbes, trolls, and more. New enemy types include cockatrices and Playground teases, each of which comes with its own characteristics and traits, requiring players to change their strategy based on who they're fighting.
Playground Games founder Ralph Fulton confirms that the developer's upcoming Fable game will allow players to marry 1,000 NPCs.
