South Africa acquired 40 of these aircraft from Italy in the mid-70’s and they were used for forward air control, artillery spotting, target-marking and communications before being demobilized in the mid-90’s and sold into private hands. There are at least 10 of these aircraft still in active flight status in South Africa, Australia and the United States."
