Rome’s annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony is moving to the Griffo Green after heavy storms uprooted the traditional tree at Veterans Memorial Park. The Tree Lighting will finish off a day of celebration on Black Friday, Nov. 28, with “The Polar Express,” a 5K, fireworks, and a visit from Santa. Mayor Lanigan said the storm “expedited the process” to bring the celebration downtown.
