Mike Gorman on Instagram: "This is short stanza uses the simple but effective technique of contrary motion to add interest and movement to the simple 1 and 4 harmonies in the first two bars. I often think of this sort of contrary motion as going hand in hand with similar drop 2 and block chord phrasing because of the note distribution between the hands, ie 1 note in LH and chord in RH. All 3 techniques are readily interchangeable. Bars 3 and 4 contain examples of secondary dominants and Chromati
